Shoppers Respect Privacy & Residential lots
« on: October 09, 2012, 10:31:18 PM »
I was wondering if BO's Shoppers Respect Privacy mod works for residential lots without a business? Squinges, "nolockedoorscreaming" has not been updated for AL (to my knowledge) and it no longer works in my game. It is so annoying to have Sims stand outside a locked door screaming because they can't use an item that is off limits to them. They shouldn't be able to see through a locked door any way.

Ah, but the EA lockable doors are not as good as Inge's!

Personally, I take the view that while the visiting teenager is snarling at the gnome behind the locked door into the locked backyard, they aren't either sitting at the desk needed for homework, or playing the darned violin that the little kid needs to gain some creativity....

My mod works everywhere, Lilsister. I hate mods that do only half the job.

Thanks BO ... (running to put mod in BO's folder). Zeph I tried Inges doors w/the color keys and Sims could still see through the door and stood outside yelling because they couldn't use the hot-tub.

I have a feeling her original lockable doors have gone.

Tunaisafish' Smart Doors do very well in that respect: in 'privacy' mode, anything behind it is hidden. Unfortunately, though, it doesn't cover ALL doors models.

Yes, that would be the better choice, from what I can remember, Inge's original lockable doors were just the Justa Door.  I think she removed them with OFB as, I seem to remember, they broke the OFB default doors... and presumably the key door system is the only alternative nowadays.

I have trouble even finding the Sims 2 section at simlogical. Google can still find it, though... and indeed, no normal lockable doors anymore as far as I can see.

Maybe I'm too far behind on this thread, but I think Inge has a routing mod that helps Sims ignore stuff behind locked doors.  Lemme see if I can find it....

Inge's TS2 stuff: http://www.drealm.info/simlogical/sl/Sims2Pages/Sims2.htm

From http://www.drealm.info/simlogical/sl/Sims2Pages/Sims2_AccessControl.htm :
Quote
NO UNSETTING ROUTEBLOCK FLAGS

If locked doors (hacked or original) appear to be letting Sims see what is behind them and try to get to things, your routeblocking flag may be becoming unset.  After installing this patch, you may need to unlock and lock the troublesome door/s again, or even buy them again in order to pick up the change.

ijNoSetUnlockedPatch.zip   (contains game overrides)

This seemed to be fixed in the game during Pets and Seasons, and has become a problem again in Bon Voyage. The Bon Voyage version of the patch also sets the flags correctly at a time that a sim goes through the door, to reduce the need to rebuy or relock.

You know, I used to use that, then removed it when it was unnecessary and never replaced it with the update when it again became needed!  If I get really, really sick of the snarling at the gnome, I just might use it again!

See the little globe  on my posts?  It'll send you to http://www.woodensimolean.com

Ignore any Google warnings; the site's been disinfected but I can't convince Google of that fact.

A well-organised list of links to stuff, even if that stuff isn't of your own hand, is not 'nothing', miros1. It's a very essential 'something' that many of us are looking for. Saves me from having to compile such a list for myself.
