Sims 2 Neighborhoods WON'T LOAD - please help

On Sims 2, all is well except when I try to load any of my neighborhoods.
It loads pretty fast and the cursor isn't an hourglass anymore, and you can hear the neighborhood sounds like the weather! BUT, the screen stays on the "Loading Pleasantview"
I CAN even click blindly and hear the mouse select things, but I can't see what I'm doing with the loading screen never going away!
It doesn't show the preview of the neighborhood, you know when it pans the camera around and shows you the town? Doesn't do that, screen never shows up.

I've tried taking custom content out but the problem still continues. It worked perfectly fine on Monday.
Did I delete the package that makes the screen load up and show you the neighborhood preview? Is there even one?

Frist try this delet the NeighborhoodManager in My Doc. Neighborhood folder and delet both the cache's to.
Then try your game again.

If that doesn't work, try removing your Neighborhoods folder to the desktop, plus all your Downloads and anything you might have in any other folders within the The Sims 2 directory.  Now, uninstall just your latest Expansion Pack, run a clean up program such as CCleaner, defragment your hard drive, then reinstall the EP again.  (If you accidentally deleted anything, then this should hopefully replace it.}

I had already reset the neighborhoods yesterday and the problem still continued. But thank you I will try these methods and hopefully it will work

brianadollx did any of this help you out please let us know, so some one els with the same problem might get help out of this.

I just wonder if hitting Alt-Tab to go back to the desktop then clicking "The Sims 2" in the task bar wouldn't  force the game to redraw the neighborhood screen.

You thought you might have deleted the wrong file...were you attempting to clean up your game?
