My sims have to work a bit harder... but of course, if you have a business and do really well, you get to know just about everyone.  (It's one of the rewards.)

"Head for Numbers", one of the Connection Rewards :P

Exactly, and you can't believe how annoying I found it.  The genie lamp wish for beauty is also extremely annoying, especially in a large hood, when the number of uninvited guests can be enormous and the visitors never seem to stop arriving on the doorstep.

I could easily get used to "Head for Numbers", even on my old, slow rig. Ok, I agree, it takes a while for the relationship panel to load for any sim that has this reward (although on my current system, that's hardly an issue anymore). And finding the right sim is all but impossible, unless you switch to list view. But having the option of getting to know whomever you like, was very practical.

Now, with Phae's mod, there's no more need for that reward, of course, but some of my sims still get it.

I've never tried the "Wish for Beauty" thing... I can imagine how sick it is, to be disturbed on the hour every hour, day after day after day... (until the end of time, perhaps?)

Yes, and even worse if you have, like me, the teleporter from DMA installed, with the auto-greet facility, so these strangers just walk in and make themselves at home!  And not even Pescado's localwalkby will stop them, because, of course, they are seen as visitors, not walkbys.  They can, of course, be banned with the VC, but banning non-locals would still not stop it entirely, and then your friends who aren't local could not visit.  You would need to ban each one individually, and that is a chore!

Cyjon tinkered with the genie wishes and made Beauty more sensible.

I've never tried the wish for beauty, for I have had a Sim have his youth restored.  Mostly I used the Genie Lamp for money -I've got a mod that when you wish for money the Genie nets you about $62,000 simoleans in 3 drops. Still trying to figure out the criteria for getting the Geni Lamp. I've had toddlers get the lamp -what roads have they trod?

Changing the subject: The dormie gender controller is cool, especially now since the majority of my Uni dormies were created by me in CAS. I have a steady stream of born in-game Sims attending Uni so finding a mate is not a problem; the havoc that ACR is causing among my YA is can be puzzling, troublesome and funny all at the same time.

Everyone in my neighborhood knows everyone. I have very few Maxi townies left thanks to Theos Sim Deleter tool. I only have 3 phone mods, and none that increase phone calls, infact the ringing phone can be a nuisance at times.

LilSister, if you mean the havoc caused by a student who hasn't had their first kiss turning up uninvited to a party and homing in on one of the students (usually one in a relationship) and causing problems with that student's partner, that is Maxis, not ACR.

That must be a common scenario in your game. No, I meant ...ACR related actions have turned some of my shy loner Sims in raving hormornal lunatics :cheese:. I never use the maxi throw party action. Guest are sent email invitations; drop-in's are always welcome, though a rare occurance, but they are friends. The majority of my Uni Students are neighborhood playable Sims. When I click on the action it says it's ACR. It's not puzzling as in "I'm confused", puzzling because sometimes under the direction of ACR it would seem to me that the Sim is behaving contrary to their "type." For example I have a female Sim who is a Fortune/Family Sim who is behaving like a Romance Sim. I've determined that she may have some traits passed down from her father who is a Fortune/Pleasure Sim. I've found that Pleasure Sims are just as uninhibited in the woohoo department as Romance Sims. It's funny to watch Sims vie for the attention the Same Sim. It can be hilarious to watch.

The only *cheaters* I've ever really had in my game have been Pleasure sims - even though they do actually want to get married (I think, really, they just want the wedding party!)

So Pleasure Sims would enjoy serial monogamy -- more wedding parties?

I expect so, but they'd hate the break-ups!

Totally agree! Pleasure Sims just want the wedding party; Some can be faithful and will remain so until their middle-years then they will have a mid-life crisis and become horn-dogs :cheese:
