Menu lag

<< < (2/3) > >>

Ok, I went back to the previous version and no change, which I expected that would be the case. It's so weird because I can click on the fridge to say make dinner or click on a bed to relax or sleep or click on a space for a sim to go here/run here etc and those menu options pop up instantaneously. But clicking on the actual sim makes the menu slow and laggy to pop up!!.  :pissed:

Have you deleted unnecessary memories with the batbox?  No Sim Loaded won't do that, and nor will BO's memory fix thingy, as that only stops new memories from being created.

BoilingOil:
Are those sims walking around with large numbers of items in their inventory? A single stack of hundreds of identical objects still counts as hundreds of objects, and will most certainly adversely affect your game.

Do those sims know half the world?

I'm just spinning here...

It's amazing how a software update can cause so much havoc! I was thinking of what other changes I had made to my computer, other than the Sim related ones, as a possible cause of my weird menu lag issue.

Bloody Ad-Aware! It's a program I've used for years without any problems and a few days ago I got a pop asking me to update to the latest version, which of course I did. All had been working ok with it up until my menu issue and today, my computer was running like it had a virus or something. I thought about the Ad-Aware update and googled to see if anyone else was having issues. Well, whaddya know? Yes, they are! The company has been bought by someone else and the new version is a buggy, system hog piece of crap! I uninstalled it, the computer is running as fast as it ever has and funnily enough, the menu lag when I click on a Sim is no longer an issue!

Thanks BO and ZZ for your help  :thumb: If this issue arises with anyone else, perhaps this information may help.

If you don't have it, try using CCleaner, it does wonders for my computers.
