Break up without relationship decay?
« on: August 06, 2017, 01:26:26 PM »
Is there a breakup mod somewhere where your sims can break up and the relationship level doesn't deteriorate too much? Or when they get engaged but want to break up and just continue going steady instead?

Allows sims to break up without having to have them fight for ages first.  If I remember correctly (it's a while since I've had any of my sims break up) it won't stop the loss of relationship points caused by the break up, just that they can break up while still good friends so the relationship won't hit rock bottom.

Yeah okay, I already have a mod for them to break up anytime from simlogical. I just wanted to know if there was one to keep the high level in tact without having them to be mad at each other after it happens.

Not that I know of, but if they don't live together it shouldn't take more than a couple of phone calls to get the relationship back up, especially if you use Pescado's phone hack.

If you don't want any relationship decay you are better off using the Sim Blender to remove the relationship flags.

Doesn't the removal of relationship flags also completely cancel the relationship?
Because if that is the case, then this method is like killing the patient to prevent him from becoming ill!

So you would still need to phone the sim to remake the relationship.... or if they still live together, talk to them or make a joke or something....

Yeah, that's what it would look like to me as well...

However, on second thought, if one were to ONLY remove the crush/love flags and the spousal relationship (so they remain friends, but no more than that), then remaking the relationship would not be required. She wasn't that specific, but it might be logical to assume that maybe that is what LilSister actually meant.

I think, having done that, you would be well advised to use the ACR option to remain just friends....

Agreed! The sims in question will have most likely have a reasonably high chemistry with each other (why else would they've been together in the first place?), and might suddenly start flirting again  - just for the good old times' sake. Placing them in the friend zone would at least prevent that.

It would, indeed!  Just wish it would also clear the attraction score!

I guess I should have been more specific - you can use the Sim Blender to remove - going steady, engagement, and marriage flags. It also allows you to remove love, and crush if choose.  I didn't mean to totally wipe out their relationship as if they never met; although that option is available also.  I have also found Marhis Romantic Flags Batch Cleaner very useful for my Pleasure and Romance Sims who have had many partners and decide they want to get married and turn  over a new leaf :cheese:

The only time my Romance sims do that is when they're on a date!  Although, as teenagers, they often want to go steady.
